Quality education receives major emphasis under the VKY. 30 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), 43 Low Literacy Girls Residential Schools (LLGRS) have been established to provide residential schooling facilities to tribal students. These are schools with the state of the art educational and catering more than 20,000 Tribal Students. The main objective of establishing residential schools is to bridge the gap in literacy level between the mainstream population and Schedule Tribe population of Gujarat.
