Achievements


  • Qualitative and sustainable employment : Doubling of income of approximately 8 Lakh families as against target of 5 Lakh families through modernized agriculture facilities, vocational skill training and dairy development programs.
  • Emphasis on Quality Education & Higher Education : The literacy gap between the State and ST population reduced from 21.4% in 2001 to 15.5% in 2011 Census (Tribal literacy rate – 62.5%).
  • Accelerated Economic Development : Proper market for traditional products through APMC’s in each taluka, cold storages, eco-tourism centres, Minor Forest Produce scheme and Haat Bazaars.
  • Health : Sickle Cell screening undertaken for 83.76 lakh tribal people, annual health check-up program undertaken for 76.99 Lakh people, all medical infrastructure gaps fulfilled.
  • Housing : Housing for 4.5 Lakh people provided; sanitation facilities under construction
  • Safe drinking water for all : Safe drinking water facility for 100% tribal households provided; tap water availability increased from 3.9% in 2001 to 56% (8.5 Lakh families) households.
  • Irrigation : Over 1.46 Lakh hectares with enhanced irrigation facilities developed – total 7.58 lakh hectares with enhanced irrigation facilities (Total cultivable land is 16 Lakh hectares).
  • All weather roads : 99% tribal villages connected with all-weather roads.
  • Urban Development : Modern infrastructure development undertaken in 18 tribal towns.
