The skill training program aims to double the income of ST families by empowering tribal youth to attain skill based quality jobs. Implementing partners are responsible for skilling, placement and handholding of placed candidates for minimum period of one year. TDD, through its special purpose vehicle Development Support Agency of Gujarat (D-SAG) is implementing several skill training programmes for generation of sustainable livelihood for tribal youth. These programs seek to enhance the employability of the tribal youth by upgrading their existing skill sets and/or addition of new skills that enhance employability and empower them for better income generation.

D-SAG has joined hands with reputed private partners, NGOs and government institutions for the implementation of result oriented Skill Training Program.

Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET)

Tribal Development Department (D-SAG) in collaboration with CIPET, Ahmedabad is imparting residential training to tribal youths in the field of Plastic Product Manufacturing. Many tribal youths have gained quality employment in the Middle East with good remuneration.

Indo German Tool Room (IGTR)

Tribal Development Department (D-SAG) in collaboration with IGTR, Ahmedabad is imparting residential training to tribal youths in the field of CNC Machine Operation.

Vocational Training Centre

Seven State-of-Art well equipped Vocational Training Centres have been established through public-private partnership. These Vocational Training Centres are providing residential training to tribal youths in industry and market relevant trades/courses. Excellent lodging and boarding facility is provided to all the trainees in these centres.

All Gujarat Institute of Driving Training and Technical Research, Waghodiya

Tribal Development Department (D-SAG) has established this Vocational Training Centre (VTC) in partnership with Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) for training of tribal youth in driving. The institute is having excellent infrastructure and expertise to impart training in transport related fields. It can train 2400 youths annually and has trained over 5,000 tribal youth in expert and modern driving. The VTC is training tribal youths at its full capacity. Tribal youths trained in the institute have got employment as drivers for ambulances, corporate firms and transport agencies.

Vocational Training Centre, Vaghaldhara (Valsad)

Tribal Development Department (D-SAG) has established this VTC in partnership with Vaghaldhara Trust. The centre is a state-of-the-art facility having modern machinery and equipment’s for skill development of tribal youth. The VTC is training tribal youths at its full capacity and imparting training in the field of Computer-cum-programming assistant, Civil draftsman, Electrician, Welder, Fitter, Turner, Plumber and Refrigeration air-condition mechanic.

Vocational Training Centre, Bharuch

Tribal Development Department (D-SAG) has established this VTC in partnership with Sewa Rural. The centre is imparting training in different trade’s i.e. Turner, Fitter, Welder, Office Assistant, Computer and Hardware Networking.

Vocational Training Centre, Chhotaudepur

Tribal Development Department (D-SAG) has established this VTC in partnership with Shroff Foundation Trust. The centre is imparting training in the field of Business Process Outsourcing.

Vocational Training Centre, Goraj

Tribal Development Department (D-SAG) has established this VTC in partnership with Muni Sewa Ashram. The centre is imparting training in the field of health care and nursing.

Vocational Training Centre, Dharampur (Valsad)

Tribal Development Department (D-SAG) has established this VTC in partnership with Atul Rural Development Fund. The centre is imparting training in the field of Textiles and Chemical Industry.

Vocational Training Centre, Dahod

Tribal Development Department (D-SAG) has established this VTC in partnership with Gramin Vikas Trust. The centre is imparting residential training in the field of Construction Sector.
