Fruit Plant Distribution


 

The Government of Gujarat has approved the scheme of distribution of saplings of Fruit Plants from Resolution No.VKY/ 102019/546 / P, dated 18/09/2019 of the Tribal Development Department. In order to increase the income of tribal farmers in the tribal areas and raise their standard of living, implementation of Fruit Plant Distribution scheme is under way in Valsad, Surat, Navsari, Tapi, Bharuch, Dang and Rajpipla districts of South Gujarat. Thus, taking into account the past results, under this scheme, the beneficiary farmers have been provided various fruit trees such as of approximate value of Mango-20566, Lemon-6351 and guava-3906, the samplings have been provided according to 10, 20 and 40 butts’ area of land. Approximately 30823 tribal farmers will be benefitted from this scheme. In addition to this, 2957 beneficiary’s shall be include to give benefit of mango-1825, lemon-656 and Guava-476, taking into account the public contribution, a total of 2957 beneficiaries will be included. Thus, under Fruit Plant Distribution Scheme, an estimated total of 33980 beneficiaries will be given benefits.

The scheme will cover tribal farmers, out of which the following beneficiaries will be eligible.

  1. Tribal farmer account holder with score of 0 to 20.
  2. Land holder allotted under Forest Rights Act.
  3. Farmer account holder having land under primitive group. The benefit of this scheme will be given by the office of the sponsoring administrator after thorough verification as per the selection criteria of the beneficiary. The period for completion of the scheme will be one year. Currently 12880 beneficiaries are benefiting under this Project.
